It is my sad duty to report that our two shows next weekend, Friday the 12th at Tim & Terry’s, and Saturday the 13th at the Civic Media Center, will be the last shows with Scott on drums. Scott’s left some mighty big shoes to fill, and we’re doing our best to find somebody who can rock as hard as he has. Good luck and Godspeed, Scott!

We are starting on a new record this month. As a warm-up, we recorded a cover of John Cage’s 4’33”. It’s a composite take: the first two parts (30” and 2’23”) were recorded at the main studio, but most of the third part (1’40”) was overdubbed later back at the house. So far, this is the only thing we’ve recorded during these sessions, but stay tuned for more soon!

The “Sam Heath Sings Colin Meloy” EP is done! It was recorded in my bedroom exclusively on acoustic instruments and will only be available at shows by request. In other words, it is free but will be made in limited quantities.

We’ve added another show next Saturday night, so you can catch us either at 9:00 at the CMC Benefit at 1982 with Vincent Valentine, Civil War, and Shotgun Diplomacy, or at midnight at the Hawthorne Amphitheater with Paco, Electric Church, Rachael Miles, Four Forty One and Pilly Wete.

Directions: Take SR20 (Hawthorne Rd.) east from Gainesville, pass 301, then take a right at the first blinking light (there’s a Kangaroo on the corner). The Amphitheater entrance will be on your right.
