We have two shows this week! The first is at the Backstage Lounge this Wednesday, Feb. 3rd with Fantastic Plastic Lovers.

The second is Sam playing Building Rockets and other songs at the Original Pizza Palace on Friday, Feb. 5th at 7:30. There is no cover and excellent pizza and other food and beverages.

Abandoning any facade of coolness, we have joined Twitter. Follow us, and specifically the sporadic adventures of Sam at buildingarocket.

This is primarily because the amount of information we post usually doesn’t justify a full email to the listserv, which is itself Clinton-era technology, and I also usually forget. So, um, hooray to laziness abetted by new media!

Thing One: Show this Wednesday at CMC! With Graffiti Tree (featuring our good friend Jaryd Smart). Door is a suggested $5 donation to the CMC.

Thing Two: The 2nd annual Holiday CD is coming! All you need to do is shoot us an email at band [at] buildingrockets [dot com] with the subject “2009 CD”. Include your name and either “CD” if you want a physical CD or “Download” if you want just the mp3s. If you get the CD, you also get the mp3s when they’re ready. See you at the show!

I’m playing the early set Nov. 6th, and will play any song that you want to hear!

Here’s how it’ll work:

> Post your song requests to the wall here and I’ll learn them to the best of my ability or not, depending on the song

> First come, first served.

> No classical music. If a guy wrote it on a harpsichord, it’s not happening.

> There’s no cover. Bring friends, even if they don’t have any requests or don’t like music or entertainment. There’s still beer.

> Did I mention it’s free? You can get a sandwich for what you’d pay to get in to some places.

> I go on at 8:00, followed by The Early ‘Twenties at 11:00.

Coming soon: The new Building Rockets website!

We are currently revamping the entire site, which will be its first total upgrade since 2006, and will include everything that you probably thought should have been here that wasn’t before. Also, it’s a lot niftier looking. Stay tuned!

We hope to see you all out this Saturday at Common Grounds for our show with The Early ‘Twenties, Cross-Eyed Cat, and St. Augustine’s own Lighthouse Music. Doors open at 9:00, and we personally stand by the quality of each and every one of these acts. You will rock, you will roll. Violators will be persecuted to the full extent of the law and then some. See you there!

We return to the stage this Friday, the 21st, with new drummer in tow and new songs. No cover, so please ply your friends with booze and tell them to do likewise.

Schedule is something like this:

8:00-11:00pm - Cross-Eyed Cat (old school acoustic blues)
11:00-11:30pm - Sam Heath and Cleveland M. Windsor (acoustic set)
11:30-1:00am - Building Rockets (the full-on electric version)
